Dr. Amanda Favilla

Veterinarian

Dr. Amanda Favilla grew up in the Modesto area and is proud to return to the Central Valley to begin her career as a veterinarian. She attended Beyer High School and Modesto Junior College before transferring to UC Davis, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology. As a first-generation college graduate, becoming a veterinarian has been an especially meaningful lifelong goal. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Midwestern University in 2026.

Dr. Amanda’s interest in veterinary medicine began at a young age, but her passion for the doctor-client-patient bond grew during her time working as a veterinary assistant in Sacramento. She values the trust families place in their veterinarian and enjoys helping clients feel supported and informed while caring for their pets.

Her professional interests include preventive medicine, dentistry, and hospice and palliative care. After helping provide hospice care for her own family, she became especially interested in supporting pet families through difficult end-of-life decisions with compassion and dignity. She is also passionate about helping pets live healthier lives through routine care, client education, and early disease prevention.

Dr. Amanda was fortunate to spend the final four weeks of her clinical year with the Sylvan Veterinary Hospital group and is excited to continue serving pets and their families in the community she calls home.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Amanda enjoys spending time with Gypsy, her eight-year-old Chihuahua mix, and Draco, her sixteen-year-old green-cheeked conure. She also enjoys baking, playing Beat Saber, and recently started trying her hand at gardening.
